SUMMER 2025
Join us on an exciting adventure and go on a seal safari this summer! The journey begins in either Fyrudden or Tyrislöt and continues past the island of Harstena, on the border between the St Anna and Gryt archipelagos. Out at sea, by the Sandsänkan lighthouse, you’ll find some low rocky outcrops where a seal colony has re-established itself. The lighthouse is the focal point of the Sandsänkan seal protection area, which has a 1 km radius. Between 29 June and 17 August, you can join the safari on Wednesdays from Tyrislöt and Sundays from Fyrudden.

FYRUDDEN
On Sundays, the boat departs from Fyrudden harbour at 16:00. The trip begins with a visit to Harstena, where a guide will share the island’s history and its past seal hunting traditions. At 18:00, we continue to the Sandsänkan seal protection area to enjoy the stunning views and the fresh sea breeze (a journey of approximately two hours). Afterwards, you’ll have more time to explore Harstena on your own, perhaps enjoy dinner at the restaurant or have your packed meal, before the boat departs at 21:00, arriving back around 21:30.
TYRISLÖT
On Wednesdays, the boat departs from Tyrislöt harbour at 16:00, arriving at Harstena around 16:30. We stay on Harstena until approximately 18:00, after which we head out to the seal protection area. The trip to Sandsänkan and back takes about 2 hours, meaning we return to Harstena around 20:00. At this point, there’s time to enjoy a meal at Restaurang Loftet or have a picnic if you’ve brought your own food. The boat back to Tyrislöt departs at approximately 21:00. If you wish to stay overnight on Harstena, there’s another boat returning at 14:30 on Thursday (accommodation and return tickets must be booked separately).
PRICES
800 SEK per person (meals and accommodation not included). Children under 12 years pay half price. Payment can be made by card when booking or in cash onboard the boat.
